A Standout Taco Bell Photoshoot with Brooke and Matthew

Creating a Taco Bell photoshoot is an exciting way to get some unique and memorable photographs. What better way to capture the fun atmosphere of Taco Bell combined with your love for your significant other than with a fun, personality-packed photoshoot?

As a Pennsylvania wedding photographer, I was so ecstatic when a past couple whose wedding I’d photographed said yes to having me showcase their love in a fun, unique way: having a photoshoot at Taco Bell.

Curious to see how it turned out and how you can have your own fun Taco Bell photoshoot? Keep reading!

Why Have a Taco Bell Photoshoot?

There’s really something unexpectedly charming and nostalgic about having a photoshoot at Taco Bell. It’s unconventional, sure, but it’s different, which is what makes it so fun. As mentioned before, I recently had the chance to capture a love story here, and well, it was as colorful and vibrant as you could imagine.

So, why Taco Bell? Well, there are a few reasons why you might pick this restaurant for your photoshoot.

For instance, maybe you had your first date here, or it was a place you often went to and had some of your most cherished late-night conversations.

If it’s a place you frequent, then it’s going to be a lot easier to get fun candids because you’ll be so relaxed and let your guard down, leading to genuine photos. The comfort that a location like Taco Bell can bring can really shine through the lens – trust me!

Maybe you just want a quirky and playful vibe, which their iconic branding and decor bring. If you and your S.O. march to the beat of your own drum, this setting can perfectly mirror your individuality.

Oh, and let’s not forget, if you’re a ’90s kid and love nostalgia as much as the next Millennial, then Taco Bell is perfect. It really brings back the vibes of the ‘90s and 2000s.

Truly, a Taco Bell photoshoot is not just about quirky photos, though; it’s about celebrating y’all as a couple and showcasing you both in an authentic way. Plus… a little bite of nacho fries or a cheesy gordita crunch while taking photos never hurt.

About Brooke and Matthew and Their Photoshoot

So, I had this fun idea, right? I reached out to Brooke and Matthew, this awesome couple whose wedding I captured earlier in 2023, about having a photo session at Taco Bell. They were totally game!

We quickly picked a date and met up at Taco Bell; super excited and all set to capture some great moments. We grabbed some of their favorite Taco Bell goodies and found this cool table in the corner. The light there? Just perfect!

We started snapping photos, and I just told them to be themselves. I threw in a few prompts here and there to catch those real, unguarded, candid moments of joy and love. It was all about keeping it real and capturing their vibe amidst the lively, colorful Taco Bell setting.

After grabbing some shots (and bites!) indoors, we thought, why not take this outside? So, there we were in the parking lot, Baja Blasts in hand (because this is a STAPLE at Taco Bell), with the restaurant making a fun background, just going with the flow. Brooke and Matthew were full of ideas, and we tried them all!

When the sun started to dip and the golden hour hit, it was time to play around with some flash for those cool, vibey shots in front of the restaurant. The whole vibe was just so infectious, and the flash highlighted their smiles and the bond they share, creating these lively, vibrant snaps.

Looking back, choosing Taco Bell as a location was about those genuine, flavorful moments that mirror their unique love story. The laughter, the shared glances—it was all there.

And you know what? Each photo is a little treasure, a moment of shared joy frozen in time. These snapshots aren’t just photos; they’re memories, echoes of a day filled with laughter and love, all set against the backdrop of Taco Bell. And I bet they’ll be looking back at these and smile for many, many years to come!

Tips for a Photoshoot at Taco Bell

Interested in having your own Taco Bell photoshoot? Here are some of my best tips after having one there myself.

Consider the Lighting

Try to look for areas with ample natural to get the best shots possible. Sometimes, the light from the actual restaurant ceiling lights can be a bit harsh; spots by windows can bring in some nice natural lighting that doesn’t look as rough.

Be mindful of customers

Be sure to try not to block entrances or exits, and be respectful of other guests in the restaurant. Most of the people in Taco Bell are there to just grab something quick to eat! Plus, since it is a restaurant, you don’t want to be too bothersome.

Wear comfortable clothing

If you plan on moving around during the photoshoot, wear clothing that won’t mess with your movements. It’s usually best, in general, to try to wear clothes that you’re comfortable with anyway because discomfort can show very easily through photos.

Especially with a location like Taco Bell, you can really have fun with the clothing. Maybe you can even wear a throwback ‘90s t-shirt. Keep it casual or classy; it’s totally up to you and what you’d feel best wearing!

Don’t forget about props

Props such as hats, sunglasses, bags, and even small signs will help capture different looks in your photos. If you have trouble thinking of any fun props to bring, don’t worry. Most photographers (like me) will have tons of fun ideas and may even have some props of their own that they can bring for you to have fun with.

Check for permission

Make sure you have permission from management before starting your photoshoot at Taco Bell! A good way to do this is to either call ahead and see when their slow time is (so that you won’t be in the way of customers) or, when you get there, just walk up to whoever is working and let them know that you’ll be taking some photos.

Have some pose ideas in mind

If you want, you can also have some pose ideas in mind from the get-go. A good way to do this is to just scroll Pinterest or even TikTok for specific types of imagery that you like. This way, you won’t feel as awkward when you get in front of the camera.

It really helps to at least see what types of poses can be done, especially when there are two people involved.

Keep it fun

Some great shots come out of experimentation, so don’t be afraid to try something new and have fun with it! At the end of the day, the best way to get candid photos is to be as fun as possible and to really just let loose but be confident at the same time.

I know – that’s a lot of advice. But a good photographer will provide you with tons of fun poses and prompts, so you won’t have to come up with everything on your own!
